Each year the largest street rod club in Texas sponsors a rod run hosted at Lady Bird Park in Fredericksburg, TX. The Lone Star Street Rod Associate event draws about 500 of the sharpest rides in the south for a weekend in the park. It's the perfect setting for a hot rod event with the park road winding through the Texas Hill Country. You can always count on seeing classic street rods built with meticulous attention to detail and something unusual as well. Here are some photos from 2006.

This beautiful 2 tone sedan has plenty of room inside for 4 people and the small trailer provides extra cargo room for the luggage. |

| The bed of this 1935 Dodge pickup has plenty of room for bringing the BBQ grille. | |
| This 1939 Ford convertible was custom style throughout with a fabulous paint job, while the 32 Chrysler sedan below has a more conservative look. | |
| This 1946 Cadillac 2 door was know as a "Sedanette" for it's roof line. Undoubtedly, the shape was influenced by knowledge gained about wind resistance from WWII airplane production. | |
Some of the street rods featured custom fiberglass trailers from The Little Trailer Company. As sales manager for LTC I'm always glad to see one of our trailers finished out to match the car. Here's a case of mix and match, our 34 Coupe trailer behind a sedan. We also offer a Sedan Delivery in 2 configurations, the standard rear door and a special model designed to carry mobility scooters, called the Transporter. |

| Street rodders share a passion for these cars, but that's as far as it goes. Each one is a personal expression, some want the original appearance with modern technology, while others choose exotic paint schemes and custom features. | |
| New paint colors are gaining popularity with street rod builders who are looking to compete at major car shows. The more dramatic colors and graphics can make a car stand out in a crowd. | |
Everyone
has an opinion, my friend Jim at Street
Rods Forever says "hot rods are red or black". That's the
classic look, but sometimes something different just looks good. |

From wild

| Obviously, various shades of purple are emerging as one of the more popular colors for street rods today. | |
