LONE STAR ROD & CUSTOM ROUND UP

2007 LONESTAR ROD & CUSTOM ROUND UPThe 2007 Lone Star Rod & Custom Round Up, was another stellar hot rod event in Austin, Texas. The Kontinentals have continually built this show into one the premiere shows in the country. Year after year cars come from all across the country to participate in this 3 day event. And each year the number of live music venues associated with the show continues to grow. As always, Saturday night is cruise night downtown on Congress Ave as hundreds line the street to see the seemingly endless parade of hot rods pass by.

Here some shots from 2007 of just a few of the hundreds of great rides.

A 1934 Ford coupe and a '34 Plymouth may look similar but you can be sure the owners feel their ride is distinctive. Late 1930's Fords, like the '39 and '40 pictured below, are also extremely popular for creating street rods.

Some hot rodders go for the unusual like the leopard print paint on the 49 Mercury, while others prefer the sleek monocolor scheme of this rockin' early 1950's Oldsmobile.

Tri-Five Chevys offer a rich canvas to express the owners vision of cruisin' style. Color, fabric and accessories allow the builder to showcase many skills. With enough money, the possibilities are endless.

Even the traditional family car from the 1960's makes an appearance at the Lonestar Roundup with a decidedly distinctive look.. some more so than others.

Some prefer the glitz of eye popping paint and chrome, while others go for the old school look of the rat rod.

From classic racers to high dollar weekend show cars, there is something for every taste at a Lonestar Roundup. Even the kids get into the spirit.

Yes, I know I'm a little behind publishing photos from the last few years but I've been busy. My web site clients and running the Memories Mall keeps me rockin'.

In 2010 I'm developing a fiberglass cargo trailer designed for street rods, customs and sports cars. Anything I can do to enhance the hot rod experience for everyone.
